CITY WIDE FIREWORKS BAN
Due to Stage Two fire restrictions, anything that has to be ignited with a flame is banned until at least 7/5.
At the recommendation of the American Fork Fire Chief and the Fire Marshal, we are following Governor Cox’s Executive Order to prohibit discharging of personal fireworks within the city limits.
This decision was made after much thought and careful consideration of many factors including: current drought conditions, severe dry vegetation and of firefighter resources already stretched statewide.
I realize that historically fireworks have been an important part of our Independence Day celebrations. I truly wish that conditions were different and we could proceed as normal. I appreciate your understanding and support at this critical time.
