Pressurized Irrigation Calculator

Cedar Hills has installed pressurized irrigation (PI) water meters on customer connections to comply with State of Utah mandates, encourage water conservation, preserve a reliable water supply, and increase equity in billing. Effective July 1, 2025, the City bills P.I. based on actual water usage.

A tiered rate structure based on usage will allow the City to more equitably distribute system costs among users based on actual water use, and discourage wasteful use. Residents are highly encouraged to register at MyAquatrax.com to view detailed usage and register for leak alerts. Residents should be diligent in repairing any leaks and/or making sprinkler timer adjustments according to their allotment prior to usage billing.

Cedar Hills has created an irrigation calculator to help residents estimate the cost of their bill. Enter your lot size to determine the base monthly payment and estimate what your bill would be at different water usage amounts. Don't know your lot size? Use the Utah Parcel Map to look it up.

Please note, AquaTrax displays your water usage in gallons, while the P.I. calculator requires the number in thousands of gallons. For example: If AquaTrax shows a monthly usage of 15,000 gallons, divide that number by 1,000 before entering it into the P.I. calculator. In this case, you would enter 15. The calculator does not accept decimals, so please round up or down to the nearest whole number when entering your usage.

Base Rate

The base rate is a fixed monthly fee, regardless of water usage, to cover essential costs like operations, maintenance, and debt service. It is based off of your lot size.

This rate is billed year round. The City Council determined that it would be more convenient for residents to pay a lower monthly fee spread over twelve months, rather than paying a higher fee for six to eight months.

Usage Rate

Every property has an allotted amount of P.I. water per month. Using less than your allotment lowers your cost. If you use your full allotment, the rate is approximately $1–$1.50 per 1,000 gallons. Exceeding your allotment results in higher rates.

A water allotment is the amount of water assigned to each lot, based on property size, City Code, and water rights, regardless of irrigatable area.

This rate is only billed during when the PI system is on, approximately April 15th-October 15th.
