We appreciate residents who take the time to maintain their yard. However, we have seen a significant increase in residents dumping grass clippings onto City property and blowing their lawn trimmings into the streets. Both of these scenarios have created problems with the storm water system and pressurized irrigation (PI) operations. Grass trimmings and other debris that end up in the street typically end up in the gutter. This debris creates blockages and adds contaminants to the storm water system.
In addition, lawn trimmings and yard waste has been ending up in some of the golf course ponds which then creates clogs in the pumps that move water from the ponds to the rest of the City’s PI system. Please make sure that you are properly disposing of your yard waste and not moving it off of your property. Thank you for your cooperation!
