sprinkler

There are about 2,800 PI connections throughout the City. Almost all of these connections had a new PI meter installed in the last year. Because some meters were installed after the PI system was winterized (turned off) last fall, the contractor may have left your meter in the “CLOSED” position as there was no way to check for leaks without water in the system. This was done as a precaution to avoid system-wide leaks.

We know that many people are eager to test out their systems, but it may take a few extra days if the City needs to check your connection. We are working diligently to make sure that all residents have PI water available to those who are connected. Each Public Works staff member is helping dozens of households each day to check their individual connection for any leaks and to open their meter. We appreciate your patience as we work to help everyone!

Please contact the City if:

  1. Your sprinklers do not turn on using the valve that you have used in the past

  2. The City owned stop and waste valve you have used in the past is no longer available or visible

  3. The irrigation box containing the new PI meter is leaking water out of the box

  4. You turn your system on, using your own controller, and there seems to be little to no pressure

  5. Your sprinkler system needs repair and you need the water turned off at the meter

PLEASE DO NOT open the newly installed meter box or attempt to turn on the PI meter yourself. It is unlawful to tamper with your water meter box.

To contact the City, email publicworks@cedarhills.org or call 801-785-9668 x200. If you have to leave a voicemail, be assured we are working as fast as we can to help you. We may create a work order for your residence before we are able to get back to you. Thank you for your understanding!
