The residents and associates of The Charleston Assisted Living community recently created The Charleston Care Campaign as a way to volunteer time and talents to make a difference in the Cedar Hills area. They quickly discovered that The Charleston Cares recipients were not only reaping rewards, but that the participants gained a stronger sense of community, purpose, and health benefits. To date, The Charleston residents have participated in a visiting program, made blankets for babies at Primary Children’s Hospital, and created Mother’s Day gift bags for the abused women at the Women and Children in Crisis Center in Provo. An upcoming service project is to work with a local elementary school to help students increase reading skills. To learn more or to get involved, contact The Charleston at 801-772-0123.
