Gary Gygi Selected as LPPSD Chair
March 19, 2013
In their recent meeting, the board of the Lone Peak Public Safety District (LPPSD) selected Mayor Gary Gygi of Cedar Hills to serve as chairperson, replacing Mayor Hunt Willoughby of Alpine who has served as chair for the past two years. The LPPSD board consists of seven representatives from the cities of Cedar Hills, Alpine, and Highland. Much like city government, this board sets policies, resolves issues, and sets the budget for the district. As chair, Mayor Gygi will be responsible to set the agenda and run the meetings. This is the first time a representative from Cedar Hills has been selected to serve as chair.
“I am honored to have been selected for this role,” stated Mayor Gygi. “I have a tremendous amount of respect for those men and women who serve our communities through this district and will continue to work with the other representatives to best meet the needs of our cities.”
The board generally meets quarterly, and their next meeting will be held on March 21, 2013.
