Fireworks Restrictions and Safety
July 2, 2014
CEDAR HILLS – Fireworks season is here and so are dry weather conditions. Current restrictions prohibit aerial fireworks and open pit fires east of Canyon Road; however, the City encourages residents to use fireworks responsibly and safely to reduce the risk of accident and fires. Below are safety tips provided by the National Council on fireworks safety.
Use fireworks outdoors only
Always have water nearby, either via a connected hose or buckets of water
Only use fireworks as intended
We also ask that fireworks be lit in or near driveways and never near empty lots or fields or any place with significant dry vegetation. Residents are invited to light fireworks at Mesquite Soccer Park on July 4 and July 24, where fire personnel will be on standby. Please check the City’s website before the week of July 24, as fireworks restrictions may change. We hope you have an enjoyable and safe Fourth of July.
