We are coming to that time of year when schedules get very busy, so I wanted to make you aware of a few things coming soon here in Cedar Hills. First, the State of the City Report will be mailed to every home in the city in October. There are several articles that address various city subjects, and we welcome your feedback and questions.

Second, our Youth City Council (YCC) has been busy planning events for the community. Visit our website and social media sites for detailed information on each event. On October 27 we will have the Pumpkin Walk and Haunted Creek at Heritage Park. November 15 we will have our first “Cedar Hillbilly Day” at Heritage Park. In December the YCC will again host Santa’s Workshop and the city will have a night with Santa at the Community Center.

Lastly, Blu Line Designs has recently met with the Planning Commission to discuss a new proposal for a congregate care facility in the property across from Walmart. This was just a discussion, and the Planning Commission members gave Blu Line helpful feedback, based on concerns expressed by residents during the last proposal made by this group. Blu Line will present new plans, and the same process will be followed, where they will present and discuss proposed plans with the Planning Commission and City Council in meetings and through public hearings. We encourage residents to stay involved in this process and give feedback. If you would like to receive e-mailed agendas for city meetings, you may visit www.cedarhills.org/mayor-city-council/agenda-email-list for instructions on signing up. We appreciate hearing from you.
