Election season is coming up, and serving on the City Council is a wonderful way to serve your community. We are fortunate that Cedar Hills is full of residents who are engaged in a variety of ways and care about making this a great place to live. We also have a team of dedicated staff members who give their all to make Cedar Hills a wonderful city. Serving on the City Council gives you a unique opportunity to work with staff and residents together to provide services that benefit the community. It can be challenging at times, but it’s important to have citizens serving who are committed to representing the residents of Cedar Hills. One of my favorite quotes is from Margaret Mead and says “never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world; indeed, it’s the only thing that ever has.” We need a group of committed citizens serving on the City Council who share our passion for community.

This year there are three open seats for City Council. These are each for four-year terms, beginning January 2016 and ending in January 2020. The filing period is between June 1 and June 8. You must file an application with the city recorder at the city offices during this period. The primary election will be held in August and the general election in November. More information on qualifications can be found on the city website or by calling the city offices.
