Do Not Drink P.I. Water
August 22, 2023
While all cities are required by the State to perform quality/safety testing on drinking water, this type of testing is not required for irrigation water. For this reason, the City wants to emphasize that irrigation water (PI water) is non-potable, reclaimed water. The use of this water should be limited to irrigation purposes only. Cedar Hills City’s PI system has been active for over 20 years and during that time has not had concerns with using PI water for irrigation of lawns and gardens. Non-potable water should never be used for drinking, cooking, or recreating in. If you are using PI water for your garden, make sure that produce is thoroughly washed before eating it.
