Spring open burn season begins March 30th and will end May 30th. Permits can be obtained online at air.utah.gov/OpenBurning/form/index.php Rules and regulations related to open burning can be found at air.utah.gov/OpenBurning/index.htm.
Please note that burn permits will not be approved for locations east of North Canyon Road. Also, anyone burning without a permit or burning outside of permit criteria found on the above link(s) will be cited. This is to protect home owners in the wildland urban interface (East of N Canyon Road), and help improve air quality.
Please note the following statement located within the burning rules and regulations:
The clearing index is only forecast for a three day period, including the current day. The open burn permit application may be completed up to two days in advance (i.e., Apply on Thursday or Friday if you plan to burn on the weekend).

Once the American Fork permit is complete and paid for, please complete the permit through the https://air.utah.gov/OpenBurning/form/index.php link provided on the American Fork application. Completing both applications will grant you a permit number.
Due to precautionary measures taken by the city of American Fork during the COVID-19 outbreak, we are only processing online burn permit application submittals. Payment can be made online or over the phone.
