June 24, 2021

Stage 1 fire restrictions will be implemented Friday, June 18, 2021 for all areas within the Uinta-Wasatch-Cache National Forest.  Restrictions are necessary to reduce the risk of human-caused wildfires during current drought and severe fire weather conditions. See attached order and map for further details.

The following are prohibited until further notice:

  • Campfires, unless within a designated recreation Forest Service site equipped with an established fire ring or grill.
  • Charcoal briquettes, unless used in established grills within a Forest Service designated recreation site.
  • Smoking, except within an enclosed vehicle or building, or while stopped in an area at least three feet in diameter that is barren or clear of all flammable materials.

Fireworks are prohibited on National Forest System lands at all times.

Personal devices solely fueled by liquid petroleum and can be turned on and off (stoves, lanterns, grills and fire pits) are allowed in areas outside of designated recreation sites.

Forest visitors are urged to exercise extreme caution with campfires and completely extinguish them before leaving their campsite.
