We would like to thank our residents for adjusting their irrigation systems to accommodate the cooler temperatures at this time of year. Last week saw a drop of 10 million gallons over the previous week. According to state guidelines, city-wide irrigation use is still slightly over where it should be by about one million gallons. That’s not too shabby, considering that our peak demand exceeded 30 million gallons over state guidelines during the second week in July. There are now less than 30 days until the irrigation system will be winterized. If you notice your lawn browning just a bit, do not be concerned; it is natural for it to start its dormancy period. According to state guidelines, watering every six days will keep your lawn in good shape in preparation for the winter months.
