Pushing or blowing snow into the street can create traffic hazards. According to the City code, it is considered a nuisance condition, which “unlawfully interferes with, obstructs or tends to obstruct, or render dangerous for passage, any public park, square, street or highway, or any other public place or right of way.” In addition, it is the responsibility of property owners to keep ice and snow clear of public walkways and sidewalks. With the extreme cold and icy winter conditions this year, safety issues are a serious concern, as sidewalks have not been cleared of snow and ice in some neighborhoods. Please be conscientious and courteous in this regard.
