The ban on open fires has been modified. Residents west of Canyon Road may now have open fires in approved fire pits, which must be no more than 36 inches in diameter, and the height of the flame cannot exceed 24 inches from the ground. Additionally, only raw, natural fuels may be burned (no building materials, tires, furniture, or any manufactured items). Charcoal is okay. Residents east of Canyon Road must have a screen cover over open fires in an approved fire pit. Contact the Lone Peak Fire Department at 801-763-5365 with any questions or to request a free on-sight approval of your fire pit.
