Notice of Municipal Offices up for Election

Notice of Municipal Offices to be voted on in the City of Cedar Hills Municipal General Election on November 5, 2013: Mayor, four-year term; (2) City Council Members, four-year terms each; and (1) City Council Member, two-year term. Candidate Filing Period begins June 3, 2013, and ends June 7, 2013. Declaration of Candidacy Forms or Nomination Petition must be filed in person with the City Recorder at 10246 N Canyon Road, Cedar Hills, Utah, between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. A $35 fee is required at the time of filing for candidacy.

 

AF Canyon Half Marathon and 5K

Running in AF Canyon is stunning!Cedar Hills runners, walkers, and strollers of all ages are invited to participate in the AF Canyon Half Marathon and 5K on June 15, 2013. The races, which Cedar Hills will celebrate as part of this year’s Family Festival, are sponsored by the American Fork Hospital.

Year in Review - Noteworthy Milestones of 2012

The City announced release of a newly designed and updated website with improved navigation and new features.

A new ordinance allows temporary businesses in the commercial zone during the summer months.

An open house was held to celebrate the one-year anniversary of firefighters and medics stationed at the Public Safety Building.

The City’s 14th annual Spring Clean-Up was held on April 14 and 21.

Due to redistricting, the City received a new fifth voting precinct.

The Youth City Council presented the annual Easter Egg Hunt at Heritage Park.

State of the City Reports

Communicating with residents and being transparent are high priorities for City staff and our elected officials. We have added several new and more effective ways to get information to residents, including this new State of the City Report, which covers a variety of topics and issues that face the City of Cedar Hills. This special report will be created and mailed to residents twice each year.

Weekly Story Time for Children

Parents, every Tuesday and Wednesday morning a FREE weekly story time is offered at the Community Recreation Center at 11:00 a.m. Bring your children for a 30-40 minute story time with songs and an activity. Gather at the fireplace in the Vista Room, and our resident volunteer story time lady, Marisa Wright, will be there to greet the children.

Mayor Gygi invites residents to chat

Mayor Gygi will be available to speak with residents and City staff every Thursday from 8:00am to 10:00am. Anyone wishing to speak with Mayor Gygi may find him at the Public Safety Building (fire station), 3925 W. Cedar Hills Drive, in the basement office, which is accessible only by the stairs located on the east side of the building. Fitness Classes Offered at Rec Center

Since its opening last spring the beautiful Cedar Hills Community Recreation Center has come to life. Everyone may now participate in a wide variety of fitness and recreational classes—such as youth golf camps, Zumba, Yoga, Pump, Zumbatonics for kids, karate, and the Cedar Hills FIRST LEGO League. With the anticipated completion of the basement later this year, the fitness room will open with spinning classes, a climbing wall, and additional fitness, cardio, and recreation classes.

City Offices have merged into one location

The City's front desk and Finance Department offices have moved to the Public Works Building, 10246 N Canyon Road. The City's regular phone number will remain the same, but all the staff extension numbers have changed. Please refer to the Contact Us tab for the new numbers. The US Postal Service drop box and the City's utility payment drop box will remain at their current location, 3925 W. Cedar Hills Drive. The payment drop box is emptied daily.
