SPECIAL PARKS AND TRAILS COMMITTEE MEETING

1. This meeting of the Parks and Trails Committee of the City of Cedar Hills, having been posted throughout the City and the press notified, was called to order at 7:15 p.m. by Jon Woozley.
2. Approval of Minutes from the April 13, 2006, Meeting
Minutes were reviewed and approved by the committee.
3. Eagle Projects
If Eagle Scouts would like to ask for funds from the City, the request would need to be presented to the City Council.
4. Community Trails Meeting October 12th
Dave Told will be attending this meeting.
5. Parks Up-To-Date Worksheet
• Canyon Heights - This park is going out to bid on the 15th of the month, This will be bundled together with other parks into one bid to try to get better pricing.
• Harvey Park - This item will be going to trial around May 13th.
• Cedars Mudslide - The City anticipates that the town home buildings effected by the slide will be demolished within the next month.
Action Item - The Committee would like to plan a field trip to the pump house and to The Cottages parcel during their next meeting. It was requested that the meeting start at 6:30pm to allow time for the field trip.
6. Bonneville Shoreline Trail Update
No report.
7. Yard of the Month
The award for being the recipient of the “Yard of the Month” is a $20.00 gift certificate from Lindon Nursery. Jon Woozley is also trying to get some certificates from Highland Nursery.
8. Community Service Update/Discussion
Still looking into ways to better the program.
9. Review/Recommendation on Fence Ordinance
Councilman Eric Richardson will be making a recommendation to the City Council. The current fencing ordinance states that the fencing along the corridors needs to be 50% open. The Parks and Trails Committee would like that to remain the same.
10. Family Festival Booth
The committee would like to have a booth at the Family Festival. They would like to have information with maps, brochures and a schedule of upcoming events.
Action Item - The committee would like to get brochures for the Bonneville Shoreline Trail.
11. National Trails Day
Discussion about putting together a plan and budget for this year next year. This would need to be done by December to ensure adequate preparation time.
Action Item - Put this on the next meeting’s agenda.

Action Item - Mike Stuy never received a Parks and Trails Committee binder. This needs to be ready to present to him at the June 8th meeting.
