Annie Get Your Gun set to play in Alpine
Hit the mark; don't miss it! Alpine Community Theater's 2009 summer production of Irving Berlin's Annie Get Your Gun will play July 10-18 at Timberlilne Middle School , 500 W Canyon Crest Road in Alpine. Tickets are available at Kohler's help desk in Highland, online at ACT, and at the door. General admission: $8. For show times or more information, check the online website or call 801-763-1225. Annie Get Your Gun is the story of Annie Oakley, a happy, endearing country girl who rises to fame after competing in a sharpshooting contest in Buffalo Bill's Wild West Show. She beats suave Frank Butler, the sharpshooting star, and then falls in love with him. The show's well-known songs include: “There's No Business Like Show Business,” “You Can't Get a Man with a Gun,” and “Anything You Can Do (I Can Do Better).” ACT's production stars Brooke and Chase Grant as Annie and Frank, and Kevin Burtenshaw as Buffalo Bill Cody.

Census 2010 offices are recruiting now
Preliminary operations leading up to the 2010 census count are in full swing. The Census Bureau is looking for temporary, part-time, or full-time employees who know their local area. The next stage of census operations requires hundreds of people to visit homes, apartments, and other dwellings to verify locations of housing units. Verifying addresses and updating address lists in 2009 will improve accuracy when mailing questionnaires and contacting individuals in the year 2010. Applicants should be U.S. citizens, 18 or older, and must take a written test of basic skills and pass a security check. Census jobs offer flexible hours and mileage reimbursements. Apply today by calling 1-866-861-2010. Go to www.2010censusjobs.gov for more information.

North Utah County Library Cooperative
The cities of American Fork, Pleasant Grove, Lehi, and Eagle Mountain have agreed to participate in a reciprocal borrowing system that will allow library card holders at any of the cooperating libraries to check out materials from all four libraries. (This is not a county library system.) Library borrowers are encouraged to search for needed materials at their home library before searching the other libraries’ online catalogs. Each library will continue to function as it currently does in terms of policies, budget, administration, non-resident card fees, etc. Requests (holds) made to a library other than the home library will not be honored. The intent is to allow card holders of each library first access to the materials at that library.

American Fork City Arts Council
The AFAC invites Cedar Hills residents to participate in their arts events and performances. Click here for more information.
