Family Festival 2008

The 2008 Family Festival at Cedar Hills was held July 19-26. “Thank you” to all the volunteers, Youth City Council, City Council, and City staff, who put so much time and energy into the Family Festival to make it a great success!

The Family Festival is a special time for the community to come together. We enjoyed the 5K and mile races, the Battle of the Bands, the Owlz game at UVU, the Firecracker Golf Tournament, Luau dinner and outdoor movie, and the carnival and fun events and activities at Heritage Park on July 26. A special thank you to the MISSIONARIES, who walked in the parade and volunteered for the children’s games that morning.

We're moving!
The Cedar Hills Family Festival is moving to JUNE next year! The festivities will begin June 20 and run through June 27, 2009. The fireworks will be displayed on Saturday, June 27. Watch for more details in the coming months!

Firecracker Golf Tournament
The City’s golf tournament, held in conjunction with the Family Festival on July 23, was a huge success. We had 33 foursomes play this year (17 competitive and 16 non-competitive teams). The winning competitive team members, Rulon Rodda, Bryan Stafford, Roger Cornett, and Mark Frampton, scored a 55 at 17 under par. Each player on the winning team received a $50 gift certificate to the Cedar Hills Pro Shop, a certificate for a Cedar Hills Golf Club golf hat, a sleeve of golf balls, and an opportunity to putt for a ski boat furnished by Wasatch Marine. The day ended with a delicious barbeque lunch served by Rib City. A big “thank you” goes to the golf course staff and the City staff coordinators for a fun and rewarding day on the course. A special appreciation is extended to the supporting sponsors: Chase Media, Wasatch Marine, KSL, Carl Malone Toyota, Comcast Spotlight, and Colton Reading. Also, thanks to those who provided drawing prizes: Chase Media, Marriot Courtyard, Residence Inn, Odessey, Ping, Wadman Construction, Mayor McGee, and Florentine Mexican Restaurant.
