Annual Family Festival Celebration

The Family Festival is a special time for the community to come together for summer fun and activities. Below are the 2012 dates for Family Festival (subject to change).

Family Festival 2012 Dates
It has become necessary to change the previously announced dates of the 2012 Family Festival. The new dates are:

June 9: 5K Race
June 11: Dinner and Movie in the Park
June 13 & 14: Firecracker Golf Tournament
June 16: Parade, Carnival, Fireworks

Become a Family Festival Volunteer
We're hoping to make our 2012 Family Festival the best one yet. We hope that volunteering for the Family Festival will become an annual tradition for families, organizations, and businesses, so help us spread the word! Volunteering for the Family Festival is both rewarding and fun. It's an opportunity to serve others and to meet many wonderful people in the community. Training is provided, and each volunteer is awarded two complimentary individual festival passes and a festival T-shirt. Become a Corporate or Private Sponsor of the Family Festival

2011 Firecracker Golf Tournament hits big
The golf tournament, held on June 22 & 23 in conjunction with the Family Festival, was a huge success. Thirty-one foursomes played this year (20 competitive and 11 non-competitive teams). The winning competitive team members were Brad Sears, Jared Gueller, John Hewett, and Peter Hewett. The winning non-competitive team members were Mike Ballantyne, Mike Stevens, Bob Shippen, and Todd Lambert. The day ended with a nice lunch served by the staff at the new Snack Shack on the course. A big “thank you” goes to the golf staff for a fun and rewarding day on the course. A special thanks is extended to the supporting sponsors: Bridgestone Golf, Srixion Golf, Stewarts Lawn Service, Mercedes Benz of Lindon, Val Pak, Nike Golf, and Glover Cleaning.

2011 5K Race Results
There were 145 runners in this year's 5K race, as well as 96 participants in the Mile Fun Run. The races were a great success in raising nearly $2,500 dollars for Jessie Reynolds, a two-year-old Cedar Hills resident, who has battled leukemia.

In the men's race Jake Lewis from Cedar Hills won the Family Festival 5K in a time of 17:33. Second and third place winners were Jacob Hilton and Jeff Phillippi. In the women's race, the overall winner was Kacee Houle with a time of 18:27, with Jasmyn Hildebrandt and Kenna Richardson finishing second and third respectively.

2011 Parade
We had 70 entries in the parade this year, including Miss Eagle Mountain, BYU's Cosmo, the Orem Owlz's “Hootz,” The Salt Lake Roadsters, and many more. The grand marshal was Cedar Hills resident Ben Cahoon, a former BYU football player and a current BYU coach.

A Taste of Cedar Hills: 2011 Contest Winners
The annual “Taste of Cedar Hills” baking contest drew nearly twenty entries. Congratulations to the following winners:
