Election Information 2009
Notice of Election
The City held a general election on November 3, 2009, for the position of Mayor (4-year term) and two City Council positions (4-year terms). The candidates are listed below. Eric Richardson was elected mayor, and Scott Jackman and Stephanie Martinez were elected council members. Click on each name to read biographical information and a personal statement.

Where do I vote on Election Day? General Election voting on Nov. 3 will be held by precinct at Cedar Ridge and Deerfield Elementary Schools. The polls will be open from 7:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. To find out which Cedar Hills precinct you live in or to ensure the accuracy of your voter registration record and party affiliation, click here (off-site link to State Elections office).
NEW STATE LAW! Voter Identification Requirements
Prior to voting, voters will be required to present “Valid Voter Identification,” which is defined as either one (1) form of identification that bears the name and photograph of the voter OR two (2) forms of identification that bear the name of the voter and provide evidence that the voter resides in the voting precinct.
Early Voting
For the November General Election, early voting will be held at the City offices beginning October 20 through October 30, 2009. Click here for early voting dates and times.
Absent Voters
If you are going to be out of town or unavailable to vote on election day, you may contact the City Recorder to request an absentee voter application. The State election laws allow voting by absentee for any reason.
Have you moved or changed your name since the last election? If so, you must complete a voter registration form to be eligible to vote. Mail-in voter registrations must be postmarked no later than 30 days before the next election. For further information, please contact the Utah County Elections office at 801-851-8128.
