Holiday Pick-Up Schedule
There will be a one-day delay in garbage and recycling service after the following holidays: New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Pioneer Day (July 24), Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day.

Garbage service is provided by Waste Management Corp. If you have been missed for pick up, please call them directly at: 785-3000. For general questions or concerns, please contact the City office front desk at 785-9668 or e-mail Front Desk.

New residents can locate and download the Utility Application Form here and return the completed application to the City office located at 3925 West Cedar Hills Drive. This application includes the request for water, sewer, garbage, curbside recycling, and pressurized irrigation services. A $50 set-up fee, payable with cash or check, is required.

Curbside Recycling
Cedar Hills offers curbside recycling through Waste Management, Inc. Resident participation is voluntary. The service is offered for a low monthly fee of $4.60 for the first toter, and $2.00 for each additional toter. Residents simply put the recyclables inside their blue toter without separating them, and wheel the bin out to the curb every other week on the day of their regular garbage pickup. Waste Management will collect recyclables and transport them for processing. Residents currently using two trash bins can save money by replacing one of their regular garbage bins with a recycling bin. Please contact the City office for information on signing up for the recycling program.

Optional Paper Recycling Bin
A GreenFiber recycling bin for paper products only is located behind the City office building. This bin is available to the public for disposal of newspapers, phone books, and other items such as junk mail, cardboard, and computer paper. No liquid, glass, plastics, trash, or other items not listed above may be put into this bin. There are chutes to deposit items into the bin. The large lids are to remain closed. Items (including cardboard) that will not fit into the bin through the chutes will not be accepted by GreenFiber.

Dump/Landfill
The North Pointe Solid Waste Special Service District (landfill transfer station) is located in Lindon. Cedar Hills offers its residents two (2) free dump passes per year, per household. Each pass will cover the cost of a load that is 500 pounds or less. Any additional cost is the responsibility of the resident. Both passes may be used for one load if necessary. Please come to the City office to obtain these passes, which are available year-round and must be used before December 31. The following items are NOT permitted: commercial or building debris, liquids, or hazardous waste. The transfer station is located at: 2000 West 200 South in Lindon. Phone: 225-8538.

Yard Waste/Compost
Residents may take green yard waste to the Timpanogos Special Service District (5050 West 6400 North, Utah County). This green waste is incorporated with sterilized by-products to produce compost, which can be purchased from this facility. Phone 756-5231 for pricing. Fine compost may also be purchased at North Pointe SWSSD (landfill transfer station), 2000 West 200 South, Lindon. Call 225-8538 for pricing.

Household Hazardous Waste/Paint/Car Batteries
Do you have household hazardous material under the kitchen sink or in the garage? Learn where and how to properly dispose of it and other hazardous chemicals at www.earth911.org.

Burn Permit

The City offers an open-burn permit during the County's burn window which occurs in April or May each year. The permit is available at the City office. Open burning is not allowed outside the designated burn window. Click here for more information.

Spring Clean-Up
A City-wide spring clean-up is held each year, usually the last week in April. Projects are available for groups and families. Watch for details in the April newsletter.

Christmas Tree Recycling
During the first week of January, the City provides 30-yard dumpsters for Christmas trees ONLY at the following two locations: Heiselt's Hollow Park (baseball park parking lot behind the City offices at 3975 W. Cedar Hills Drive) and Heritage Park (4450 W. Cedar Hills Drive). If the dumpster is full, please take the trees to the alternate location. Please ensure that all lights, garland, tinsel, stands, spikes, plastic, and any other type of attachments be removed from the trees. Flocked trees must not be taken to any of these locations as they are NOT recyclable. No other waste, garbage, or commercial dumping is acceptable in the bins. Mixed loads of trees and garbage cannot be recycled as green waste and are taken to the dump, which significantly increases the cost to the City. Residents are responsible to get the trees to the designated dumpsters, as curbside pickup is not available.
