Cedar Hills Youth Flag Football Registration extended until August 31
The Community Services Department is excited to begin another fun season of youth flag football for grades 2 through 9. The program is open to boys and girls in Cedar Hills and surrounding cities, and there's no additional fee for non-residents. Games will be played Tuesdays thru Thursdays, Sept. 14 thru Oct. 21. Online registration is open through August 31. Paper registrations will be received at the City office until Tues., August 31, at 4:00 p.m. Fees are as follows: 2nd grade $20; 3rd-6th grades $35; 7th-9th grades $45. A $10 late fee per person will be incurred after August 29, until all spaces are filled. Tot Soccer
The City's recreation department will hold a learn-to-play Tot Soccer league this fall for three and four-year-old boys and girls. Children must turn three by Sept. 1, 2010, to participate. The registration fee for the four-game season will be $10. Online registration will be open through August 29 for $10. A late fee of $5 will be assessed after August 29. The new online registration option offers convenience and flexibility, and residents are encouraged to utilize this new service. Games will be played on Saturdays only, starting Sept. 18 thru Oct. 16 (no games on Oct. 2). For more information, contact Jason at the City office at ext. 114 or e-mail.
Lacrosse
Cedar Hills Recreation partners with Central Utah Youth Lacrosse for boys and girls, grades 3-6. Everyone plays; no prior experience needed. Registration is available in April and games begin in June each year. Contact Jason in the Community Services Department at the Cedar Hills offices with questions.
North Utah County Soccer (NUCS)
Registration is available for "Challenger" (recreation) soccer by the North Utah County Soccer League for fall and spring play. For details go to: NUCSonline. E-mail the league president: David Josse. The league's phone number is 801-830-0220.
Highland-Cedar Hills Baseball
The league is open to boys and girls of any skill level, ages 5 to 12. Highland-Cedar Hills Baseball offers Coach Pitch for ages 5 and 6, Rookie (pitching machine) for ages 7 and 8, Minor League for ages 9 and 10, and Major League for ages 11 and 12. If you have questions, need additional information, or want to be a sponsor with a banner on the outfield fences, please e-mail Jared Anderson or visit the Web site. Please note: Highland Cedar Hills Baseball is a volunteer-run organization serving the communities of Highland and Cedar Hills. It is not sponsored by the cities of Highland or Cedar Hills. It exists to serve both communities equally.
Pony League
For boys ages 13-14, Pony League is available through Alpine City. For information, contact Greg Nielson.
Lone Peak Youth Football
LPYF offers organized, full-contact, tackle football for youth in grades 1 through 8, organized by elementary, junior high, and high school boundaries. Jr. Jazz Youth Basketball
Registration begins in October and ends before Thanksgiving. Games begin first week of January. Parents are encouraged to get involved with their child’s team by volunteering as a coach, assistant coach, team mom, or phone assistant. In addition, if you know of anyone who would like to be employed as an official or game coordinator, please ask him/her to contact the City office or e-mail Jason in the Community Services Department. Candidates for officials or coordinators must be 14 years of age or older. Junior Jazz basketball is about developing skills, having fun, and learning good sportsmanship. See you on the court!
