March 29, 2016

The 2016 Jr. Jazz season was great, and we had tons of very positive feedback from parents about how good sportsmanship was this year and how much fun was had by all. We had 821 participants from Cedar Hills and surrounding cities this year (up from 770 last year).

A huge thank you to our supervisors, referees, and scorekeepers for their efforts this year. A big shoutout to Laurie Anderson on the Cedar Hills recreation staff for all of her hard work and commitment to Jr. Jazz this season and her tireless work with coaches, parents, supervisors, and staff.

Our program will be awarded first place again this year at the recognition night with the Utah Jazz for the most participants in cities with less than 15,000 residents. Laurie will be there to receive the award for Cedar Hills.

We were also very fortunate to host a number of North Utah County cities at a Jazz Player Appearance Night at Lone Peak High School in February. Raul Neto came and had a lot of fun with our kids. Also, a big thank you to both elementary schools in Cedar Hills (Deerfield and Cedar Ridge) and Westfield Elementary, Ridgeline Elementary, Alpine
Elementary, and especially Mountain Ridge Jr. High and Lone Peak High
School administrators for the use of their facilities.
