October 16, 2012

As of October 1, 2012, open fires in approved backyard fire pits are permitted. Fire pits must be 36 inches or less in circumference, and the height of the flame cannot exceed 24 inches from the ground. Additionally, only raw, natural fuels may be burned (no building materials, tires, furniture, or any manufactured items). Charcoal is okay. Open fires in open spaces are still not permitted. Approved fireworks (only those that the State legally mandates and only on the legal dates) will be allowed on Chinese New Year and New Years Eve.
