A message from American Fork Fire & Rescue Fire Chief Aaron Brems:

Due to extreme drought conditions throughout the State and high fire danger, the Utah State Forester has postponed the Fall 2020 Open Burn Season (Including Agricultural Burns).  The Department of Air Quality has closed the application database for the application for a permit to burn.  All those found burning in the City of American Fork and The City of Cedar Hills will be issued a citation.

A recreational fire pit with a screen is still okay to use, however, a fire within those can only be 3’ round, 3’ high. All open fires east of Canyon Road, within the city limits are prohibited, unless an approved screen is used.
