The city council canvassed the Primary Election results of August 11 at a scheduled meeting on Tuesday, August 25, in the Cedar Hills community center. The outcome of the primary election on August 11, which was held by an all vote-by-mail system, was not official until the canvass was completed. The purpose of the canvass is to account for every ballot cast and ensure that every valid vote is included in the election totals. This involves accounting for every absentee ballot, every ballot cast on Election Day, every provisional ballot, and every overseas and military ballot.
